Recently, Ninh Binh, the Northern mountainous
province in Vietnam hosted
a training workshop on “Diagnosis, treatment and care for the
HIV/AIDS infected people” (May 2nd and 3rd 2005).
It is the continuously collaboration project between the Highland
Education Development Organization (HEDO Vietnam) and the International Centre
for Equal Healthcare Access (ICEHA
America).
The training workshop attracted 50 doctors
in Ninh Binh and 16 other from Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Lam Dong and
Lang Son provinces. It is the great honor for Ninh Binh to welcome
the well known Vietnamese and International faculties in the
workshop. The workshop mainly focus on
the methods for HIV/AIDS diagnosis, treatment and care. With
the good teaching methods of the lectures all the participants
had gained base knowledge on HIV/AIDS and do better serve for
the patients. The well organizing, the participants’ enthusiasm
and hospitality made the training workshop great success.
During the past 3 year of collaboration, ICEHA and HEDO has carried out number of training
workshops for the mountainous and remote province in Vietnam. They has supported
nearly thousand of doctors to improve their skill in the HIV/AIDS
field. In the coming time, ICEHA and HEDO intend
to open other training courses.
Hopefully that in October 2005 the second training workshop for
Ninh Binh province will be held. Especially HEDO and ICEHA are
finding a funding body for the International Conference in December
2005 “Combining HIV/AIDS
and Drug abuse prevention”. The International Conference will
be held with the total of 300 participants from ASEAN, European
and Australian.
