Mekong delta visit:
From July 4th to July 12th 2008 HEDO delegation heading by Prof
Trinh Ngoc Trinh, director of HEDO will be visiting and working
in Ho Chi Minh city and surrounding provinces, cities such as
Dong Nai, Vung Tau, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Bac Lieu…The aims
of this visit is to boost the development cooperation in education,
science and health with the Department of Education and Training,
the Departments of Health of the southern provinces.
Overseas activities:
In August 2008, five HEDO’s students will come to study in
the United Kingdom of those four students will study Bs and one
will be in diploma program. Four undergraduate students will receive
scholarship from 30% to 50% from the university.
HEDO’s up-coming and looking-for-funding projects:
1. In June 2008, HEDO is carrying out the project of training 100
traditional midwives to become modern midwives for Tua Chua district,
Lai Chau province funded by Medical and Scientific Aid for Vietnam,
Lao and Combodia (MSA.V.L.C).
2. In October, HEDO will implement the 2 projects to train 50 doctors
for Lai Chau and coordinate with the International Center for Equal
Healthcare Access (ICEHA) to train 50 doctors for Dien Bien province
funded by ICEHA and St Stephen’s AIDS Trust.
HEDO and British Embassy seek cooperation in micro-projects:
- Project on building school and computer equipment for scientific
research and training for Muong Pon secondary school, Dien Bien
district, Dien Bien province.
- Project on upgrading Chu Van Thinh primary school in Hat Lot
town- Mai Son district, Son La province.
