Subject: Re: help for a school in Vietnam

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Roza Rusinek. I represent Julia Rusinek Memorial Fund, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to help poor children. The Organization was formed in the name of my daughter who died unexpectedly at the age of 21. She was devoted to the improvement of the lives of children.

We would like to donate blackboards to a school in the North of Vietnam, Laocai District. (My husband and I visited the school during our trip to Vietnam last January). We are looking for a reliable contact in Vietnam who could coordinate locating the school, purchase of the blackboards and their delivery. We will cover all costs.

Can you help?
Roza Rusinek

Dear Roza Rusinek,

Thank you very much for your email dated 27 August 2003 which inflect your valuable humanitarian feeling.

HEDO is Vietnam non governmental organisation, founded on 28th March 1990 with its objectives to support development of education, science and health for children and people in ethnic minority and upland areas which meet difficulty and disadvantages. Over the past 10 years, HEDO has been sponsored to implement over 100 projects in these areas by individuals and organisations from many countries in the world.

I think the school you want to donate blackboards is in Sapa district which has high mountains and is famous resort of Vietnam and the world. Sapa is one district of Laocai province which is located in North West of Vietnam and adjacent with Van Nam province, China where there is largestpopulation of H'Mong people live and famous love market.

At present, HEDO is implementing one training program for traditional midwives with funding from MSA-VLC, UK. The program aims to support mothers to give birth safely, reduce maternal and child mortality rate there.

HEDO is willing to help your trust named with your daugter "Roza & Henry Rusinek" to purchase and deliver blackboards to school in Sapa district, Lao cai province. HEDO is also willing to invite you to come and directly handover blackboards to them. If not possible, we can take photos and film the delivery and send to you. I am very happy to invite you to Vietnam and take you to visit the school at any time you want. However, please let us know what kind of blackboard you intend to donate? for pupils or for teachers?

Wish you good health, happiness and success.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
Prof. Trinh Ngoc Trinh
Director of HEDO
